PIRTEK Fluid Transfer Solutions, DJR Team Penske and Marcos Ambrose will join forces for one of the most anticipated seasons in V8 Supercar history in 2015.

PIRTEK was the major sponsor of Ambrose’s Stone Brothers Ford from 2001 to 2005, including his back-to-back championship seasons in 2003 and 2004.

This new relationship, which will see PIRTEK branding on the headlights of DJR Team Penske’s Ford Falcon FG X, not only rekindles old ties – but is the basis of a new and rewarding business-to-business platform.

It is also an extension of PIRTEK’s one-off race deal with DJR for Ambrose’s return to V8 Supercars on the X-BOX Ford at Homebush Park in Sydney in December.

From a global standpoint, PIRTEK has a strong foothold in the home of Team Penske – the United States – where the 50th PIRTEK Centre was opened this month in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The announcement confirming the relationship with DJR Team Penske comes during a week where PIRTEK’s Australian founders, the Duncan Family, have also completed a full acquisition of PIRTEK USA LLC.

The two announcements, along with the Penske Transportation Group International’s burgeoning Australian interests, place PIRTEK in a enviable position of being able to use the V8 Supercar platform to drive strong business-to-business opportunities.

“Marcos Ambrose, PIRTEK and V8 Supercars form a symbiotic relationship that has been a cornerstone of our brand since Marcos arrived on the V8 Supercar scene in 2001,” said PIRTEK CEO, Stephen Dutton.

“We’ve enjoyed some wonderful success with Marcos and our loyal franchise base still regularly refer to those Championship years with fondness and we’re hopeful of capturing more success with him in the DJR Team Penske entry.

“The announcement that Marcos was coming back to Australia and bringing a captain of motor racing and industry in Roger Penske with him has created unprecedented interest.

“From our first meeting with Roger and his team, the synergy between the organisations became clear, particularly in the areas of heavy transport and earthmoving – both key markets for PIRTEK.

“We look forward to working more closely with Penske Transportation Group International on a number of projects and really using the V8 Supercars relationship as the foundation for that.”

Dutton expressed equal excitement at the developments within PIRTEK in the US.

“The US is becoming increasingly important for PIRTEK – with the opening of our 50th outlet in Milwaukee and the acquisition of the US parent by the Duncan family allowing us to streamline many operations globally,” he said.

“With Marcos’ profile, combined with PIRTEK’s footprint in Australia, New Zealand and the US, it makes perfect sense for us to be involved with DJR Team Penske.

“It must also be noted that our relationship with Penske has been seamless and is already resulting in positive benefits for both parties.”

For Ambrose, PIRTEK being back on board completes an important part of a welcome home process, after almost 10 years in NASCAR.

“Having PIRTEK riding along with me this season really helps. It makes me feel like I am back home,” said Ambrose.

“We’ve got a big challenge ahead of us at DJR Team Penske but there are a lot of well- credentialled guys in the team and I’m comfortable with our preparation.

“There isn’t a lot of testing that you can do under V8 Supercar rules, which makes it very hard, but we’ll learn as we go and hopefully can achieve some solid results.”

Ambrose paid tribute to PIRTEK’s commitment to the sport – stating its genuinely part of V8 Supercars’ DNA.

“The Duncan family and Stephen Dutton have been good friends for a long time and the amount of people from PIRTEK – whether customers, staff or franchisees – that would approach me in the US was humbling,” said Ambrose – who took two wins during his 277-race NASCAR Sprint Cup career.

“PIRTEK is one of the most recognised and respected brands in V8 Supercars. The majority of the field uses PIRTEK products in their racecars and already, I can see both organisations thinking of ways to leverage the partnership in a business-to-business sense.

“PIRTEK is really central to the sport’s DNA, so seeing them involved right around Australia means more than just putting a logo on a racecar.”

DJR Team Penske Managing Director, Ryan Story, was delighted to formally announce PIRTEK as part of his organisation’s partner group.

“Stephen Dutton and his team at PIRTEK are already working very cohesively with the Penske Group on the commercial side and we look forward to hosting them and their guests trackside in Australia and abroad,” said Story.

“It is a great fit to have PIRTEK on a car driven by Marcos and hopefully we can have similar success to what they enjoyed when they were last together in V8 Supercars.”

The association with DJR Team Penske strengthens PIRTEK’s commitment to the sport, which also includes major sponsorship of the PIRTEK Enduro Cup and adds to its sporting properties – the Brisbane Broncos Rugby League club; the Western Sydney Wanderers Hyundai A-League franchise; the world’s biggest single day fishing competition – the PIRTEK Fishing Challenge and naming rights partner to PIRTEK Stadium in Parramatta.

PIRTEK is based in Kings Park, Western Sydney, where it was founded in 1980. There are 97 PIRTEK Service and Supply outlets in Australia, 50 in the USA and over 400 throughout 23 nations globally.
