About Us

We’re a locally owned and operated hydraulic service provider known for fast, reliable breakdown support and quality workshop repairs. From construction and transport to agriculture and manufacturing, we service a wide range of industries across the Bay of Plenty region. Our workshop is equipped with precision machining, hydraulic rebuilds and component testing - and our team is trusted by some of the biggest names in the field. We value teamwork, safety and getting the job done right.

About the role

We’re seeking a skilled Hydraulic Engineer / Workshop Machinist to join our high-performing team, delivering critical repairs and refurbishments that keep industry moving. You’ll use your machining and hydraulic expertise across varied, hands-on tasks – from precision machining to complex repairs – ensuring equipment runs at its best. You’ll also help maintain a safe, high-quality workshop and support our 24/7 breakdown service as part of a shared on-call roster. Other key responsibilities include:
Operating manual lathes and workshop machinery to fabricate and rework hydraulic parts
Disassembling, rebuilding and repairing valves, pumps, motors and cylinders
Performing cylinder repairs such as re-tubing, re-shafting and re-sealing
Liaising with customers to provide updates, explain repairs and build strong relationships

About you

You’re a skilled and motivated tradesperson who’s confident working with hydraulics, machining, and precision tooling. You’ll bring strong problem-solving ability, great communication skills, and the flexibility to handle both planned work and urgent breakdowns.  What you’ll need:
Trade qualification or proven experience in machining, fitting & turning, or hydraulic repair
Confidence with manual lathes, precision tooling, and mechanical fault-finding
A full, clean NZ driver’s licence and the fitness for hands-on workshop duties
The ability to work independently or in a team, with flexibility for overtime and on-call support

Why Join us?

Competitive pay with tool allowance, overtime and on-call earning potential, plus relocation support if needed. You’ll work in a well-equipped workshop on varied projects with a supportive, tight-knit team, while building your career in a stable, respected business. If you’re a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in quality work, we want to hear from you. Apply today or call Andrea McIntosh 0272276130.
