Dobson Motorsport is a family owned and run championship winning race team with a long association with PIRTEK in New Zealand stretching almost 10 years.

Jeff and Janice Dobson own the 2007 Pontiac Grand-Am Pro Modified drag car with 2500 horse power Twin Turbo Big block Chev engine running in the New Zealand Drag Racing Associations NZ Drag Racing Series.

The current car was purchased in 2016 and is driven by Jeff, his son Josh and son-in-law Adam Prestney. The previous 1986 Camaro Pro Stock car was campaigned by Jeff and his Daughter Shanelle and over its 12 years of consecutive racing won more than 6 New Zealand Championships.

PIRTEK New Zealand and our franchise network have been the main branding partner of the Dobson Motorsport drag car for almost 10 years and the car has always been known as the “PIRTEK CAMARO” or “PIRTEK PONTIAC”. The branding has not only been on the teams drag racing vehicle but through associated race teams that Dobson Motorsport help with engine building, tuning and fabrication services. The brand has been exposed on many levels of motorsport at nationally including speedway, off-road racing, car shows, circuit track and jet sprint boat racing.

With over 20 years of involvement with motorsport in Australia and New Zealand PIRTEK has become a household name within the industry and Dobson Motorsport is proud to be associated with the PIRTEK brand.
